Eurostar’s Immersive OOH Takeover at Westfield Stratford
Campaign: Eurostar
Location: Westfield Stratford City
Media planned by: WPP and Wavemaker
Format: Full Adlift Media Wall and immersive lift interior wraps
What if a trip to Paris was as simple as stepping into a lift?
That was the thinking behind our latest campaign for Eurostar, which transformed two lift areas at Westfield Stratford City into an immersive journey from London to the French capital. Bringing together a full Adlift Media Wall and two uniquely designed lift interiors, the campaign turned an everyday moment into an unexpected escape to Paris, showcasing just how quick and effortless the journey can be.
With Eurostar taking passengers from London St Pancras International to Paris in just 2 hours and 33 minutes, the idea was to bring that sense of speed and instant escape to life in a playful, physical way. After all, a lift can transport you between floors in seconds, and Eurostar can have you in another country in just over two hours. We wanted audiences to experience that feeling of being transported somewhere new, without even having to leave Westfield.
All aboard at Westfield Stratford
The journey began before anyone even stepped inside the lift.
Taking over two lift areas, our Adlift Media Wall wrapped the lift doors and surrounding structure, transforming the entire exterior into a train platform. Inspired by the experience of arriving at St Pancras International and preparing to board, the creative brought the departure point of a London-to-Paris adventure into the heart of a busy shopping centre.
The lift doors became the doors to the train itself. Rather than simply advertising a destination, the installation recreated a moment from the travel experience, inviting passers-by to imagine themselves stepping aboard and heading off on their next adventure.
Whether it's a spontaneous weekend away, a long lunch in a Parisian café or an afternoon spent exploring the city's galleries, the journey doesn't have to be a big undertaking. With Eurostar, Paris is just over two hours away.
And, of course, there was a little twist to the experience. While the outside looked like the start of a journey from St Pancras, stepping through the doors meant skipping the train ride altogether and arriving straight in Paris itself.
Step inside Paris
The experience didn't stop at the exterior. Once inside, passengers discovered that each lift had its own Parisian world waiting for them, with two different interior wraps designed to capture the city's character, charm and unmistakable atmosphere.
Each lift offered a different take on the French capital, giving audiences a glimpse of the experiences that make Paris such a popular destination.
A little taste of Parisian café culture
One lift immersed passengers in the atmosphere of a classic Parisian café. Think leisurely coffees, elegant interiors and the simple pleasure of sitting back and watching the world go by.
For audiences stepping inside, it was a small reminder of what could be waiting for them on the other side of the Channel. No airport queues or long-haul travel required.
An instant escape into a Parisian art gallery
The second lift offered a completely different experience, transporting passengers into the refined world of the Musée d'Orsay art gallery.
With its gallery-inspired surroundings and elegant visual style, the space captured another side of the city: one filled with culture, creativity and artistic discovery. P
The creative invited audiences to imagine wandering through grand gallery spaces, discovering iconic works of art, such as Renoir’s Bal du moulin de la Galette.
By giving each lift its own distinct personality, the campaign celebrated the variety of experiences available in Paris while creating two individual moments of surprise and discovery.
“The real strength of this campaign lies in its simplicity. It’s OOH at its best, transforming an everyday moment into an unexpected, immersive experience. With mallgoers already in a relaxed, discovery-ready mindset, it brought together the three ingredients of an impactful activation: a strong idea, the right audience and an execution that brings the brand to life.”

A journey that happens in seconds
At the heart of the campaign was the connection between the speed of Eurostar and the instant transformation of the lift experience.
We all use lifts without giving them much thought. We step inside, press a button and arrive somewhere else moments later. By taking that familiar experience and turning it into a journey from London to Paris, the campaign made Eurostar's proposition tangible in a fun and unexpected way.
It's this shift from simply seeing an advertisement to stepping inside one that made the campaign stand out. Rather than relying on a message alone, the creative allowed audiences to move through the story themselves, with the experience unfolding around them as they entered each lift.
And with two different interiors to discover, each lift offered its own little escape, encouraging audiences to engage with the campaign in a way that felt surprising, immersive and memorable.
Bringing the Eurostar experience to life
Located at Westfield Stratford City, the activation turned an everyday part of the shopping centre into an opportunity to dream about travelling further afield. The bold exterior was designed to catch the eye and draw people in, while the immersive interiors rewarded that curiosity with an unexpected change of scene.
Working with media planned by WPP and Wavemaker, the campaign brought together creative use of space, large-format branding and destination-led storytelling to put Eurostar's London-to-Paris connection front and centre.
More than just an advertisement for a train journey, it was an invitation to imagine the possibilities waiting at the other end. From the buzz of a Parisian café to the elegance of an art gallery, the installation showcased the different experiences that make the French capital such an enduring favourite, all while reinforcing just how accessible it is from London.
Because sometimes, all it takes to start dreaming about your next trip is a ride in a lift.
And when Paris is just 2 hours and 33 minutes away with Eurostar, that next adventure might be closer than you think.
