Get To Know: The Dolphin Centre

Introducing our newest digital mall location

With over 90 retailers, including prominent high street brands and unique independent stores, The Dolphin Shopping Centre in Poole, Dorset, stands as the county’s largest indoor retail destination, having evolved into a multifaceted community hub.

Impressive Footfall and Retail Growth

The Dolphin Centre welcomes upwards of 30,000 visitors daily, translating to over 10 million annually. Recent developments, such as the introduction of attractions like Flip Out, Putt Putt Noodle, and High Score Arcades, have contributed to a 12.4% increase in footfall compared to the previous year, and a 21.2% rise from 2021. These additions have transformed the centre into a vibrant lifestyle destination, appealing to families and individuals seeking diverse experiences.

Anchor Stores and Independent Retailers

The centre boasts a mix of local businesses and established retailers such as H&M, Next, Primark and Starbucks. Additionally, Kingland Crescent, adjacent to the main centre, hosts a variety of independent pop-up shops that offer unique products and contribute to the centre's close bonds with the local business community.

Community Events and Cultural Engagement

The Dolphin Centre actively engages the community through various events and initiatives. The GATHER event space provides a venue for local organisations to host activities, including charity fundraisers, art exhibitions, and educational workshops. Seasonal celebrations, such as Christmas and Easter events, further enhance the centre's role as a community focal point.

The centre also hosts The Foundry, offering SMEs and freelancers creative places and offics space that connect local businesses with global ambitions; including a fully stocked podcast studio.

Diverse Audience and Regional Appeal

The Dolphin Centre attracts a broad demographic, from local residents to visitors from surrounding affluent areas like Sandbanks and Canford Cliffs. Sandbanks, recognised as the most expensive coastal area in Great Britain, has an average house asking price of £1,582,331, while Canford Cliffs follows closely with £1,242,181. The centre's diverse offerings appeal to this affluent audience, as well as to families and tourists seeking comprehensive shopping and leisure experiences.

Poole also sits directly adjacent to Bournemouth, a bustling coastal town that has seen increased national attention thanks to AFC Bournemouth’s status as an established Premier League club. The team’s continued top-flight presence has brought significant media exposure, increased visitor numbers on matchdays, and a boost in tourism-related footfall throughout the surrounding area. This broader regional visibility and visitor activity make The Dolphin Centre a strategic location to reach a wider, engaged audience drawn from across the South Coast and beyond.

Enhanced Advertising Opportunities

With the recent installation of our large-format landscape Orbit screen and portrait D6s, The Dolphin Centre offers dynamic advertising platforms for our brand partners and clients . These digital displays provide high-visibility opportunities to engage with a substantial and varied audience, making the centre an attractive location for targeted marketing campaigns.

In Summary

The addition of The Dolphin Centre to media plans provides significant coverage of the South Coast area, making it a valuable asset for media briefs seeking to extend brand presence beyond major metropolitan areas while still targeting high-net-worth individuals and active spenders.

By combining consistent footfall, an affluent and engaged audience, and new state-of-the-art digital infrastructure, The Dolphin Centre offers brands a strategic and high-impact location to connect with consumers, amplifying national campaigns and driving regional influence in a key coastal conurbation.
