Film on 10 years of Bournemouth Air Show to be shown in UK shopping centres

Limited Space has teamed up with the organisers of Bournemouth Air Festival and Bournemouth-based digital agency Createful as part of a competition for students to create a 20-second film in celebration of the event’s 10 year anniversary.

This winning entry, submitted by Arts University Bournemouth students Natalie Carr and Emily Hood, will be shown on screens at a number of major shopping centres across the country thanks to Limited Space’s digital portfolio. These include Bluewater Shopping Centre, Kent; Birmingham’s Bullring and others in Derby, Redditch and Croydon.


Natalie said: “It has been great to work on such a great digital project, and then to win has been fantastic.


“To know our winning advert will be seen by hundreds of thousands of people is amazing.”


From Red Arrow displays, The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and funfairs, to military ships, beach assault demonstrations, dusk displays and Night Air entertainment, producing a video which communicates the experience of Bournemouth Air Festival in just 20 seconds is a difficult task, said a festival spokesman.


The judging panel, formed of Matt Gordon, chief executive officer at Limited Space; Michelle Roberts, marketing & PR manager at Bournemouth Tourism; Jon Weaver, director of Bournemouth Air Festival, and Adrian Hopper, commercial director at Createful, were impressed with the calibre of entries.


Jon Weaver said: “It was great to see local students using their skills to showcase a true representation of the Bournemouth Air Festival.


“We can’t wait to see Natalie and Emily’s winning video on large format screens across the UK’s premier shopping centres.”


Meanwhile, Adrian Hopper said: “It has been a privilege to be involved in a competition which has provides a springboard for the next generation of creative talent in the region.”


The Bournemouth Air Festival takes place August 31-September 3 and the film will be shown in the fortnight leading up to the event.
