The Angry Birds Movie

With the upcoming cinema release of ‘The Angry Birds Movie’ (available in 3D) to promote, Sony Pictures needed an impactful way to bring the characters to life in a real world setting.

At the heart of the campaign were two bespoke 3D Suspended Media banners – created by Limited Space in partnership with Specialist Models – placed in Westfield London and Bluewater shopping centre. Creating a unique impact, the models helped to bring a new dimension to the Angry Bird’s lead character, Red, whilst reinforcing the 3D element of the film.

The campaign was also supported by wider mall activity including Limited Space’s 5mx3m hanging banners which helped increase the films reach in each mall location.

Finally, Adlift was used to generate widespread awareness of the film release, with Sony using a combination of multiple creative banks and solus sites across the UK’s top destination malls, in direct proximity to cinemas. The characteristics of the lift door format worked perfectly in showcasing the rivalry between birds and pigs, with Sony creatively using the split to allow the two sides to go head-to-head in battle.
