Born in New Zealand, Matt Gordon enjoyed a successful senior management role at one of Australasia’s largest privately owned companies, Motion Industries.
Here he was responsible for product development, sales strategy and management for a wide range of global and national clients. After moving to the UK, Matt co-founded Limited Space in 2002 and under his leadership it has grown from a local media company into a successful national media owner.
Alongside developing company structure and strategy, Matt is responsible for the development of Limited Space’s commercialisation portfolio and has built contracts with some of the world’s largest property companies. Matt is a true leader and teamed with his deep rooted understanding of malls and his strong relationships and contacts in the commercial sector he has developed and implemented some of the most successful unique media products within the mall environment.
Samantha’s entrepreneurial spirit and pioneering nature led her to co-found Limited Space with business partner Matt Gordon in 2002. But like all new entrepreneurs, Samantha’s path to success hasn’t always been smooth.
Having accepted a place at Imperial College School of Medicine, Samantha’s early career path had to go on hold following the sudden death of her father. During the deferred university placement, Samantha took some small commercial roles including a TV ad directed by Ridley Scott, along with taking her stock exchange entrance exams before accepting a position in a local newspaper. It was here that Samantha discovered her true creative streak and took a role which saw her say good bye to her career in medical research and set her on the path into the media industry.
While at the newspaper group, Samantha identified and developed an opportunity to launch a weekend publication to run in conjunction with the weekly newspaper that she was working on. This project resulted in Samantha being approached by three major publishing houses, one of which was News International.
Here she became the youngest National Account manager quickly taking an active role in research and readership behaviour. Samantha co-developed a model to place a value on each section of a publication, which resulted in an increase of agency revenue.
While attending a media conference on the future of media, a talk on the growth of out of home inspired Samantha to apply the research model to the OOH environment and Limited Space was born.
Samantha’s ambitious, creative and commercially focused approach has allowed her to create some of the most successful and unique media products in the mall environment. She continues to map out the vision and growth path for Limited Space along with the running of the business day to day with co-founder Matt Gordon
Outside of Limited Space, Samantha takes an active role in promoting literacy, as part of The World Literacy foundation, and she signed the first declaration at Oxford University to give every human the right to be able to read and write.
Samantha is a mother of two and a keen surfer and runner.
